Perennial Horticulture Centre

Cherries

Under the National RD&E Framework for Horticulture, approved by the Primary Industries Ministerial Council (PIMC), TIA's Perennial Horticulture Centre is the Major RD&E agency for Australia's cherry industry.

As part of that responsbility TIAR contributed to a recently published major report providing advice to the cherry industry. The report's preface states that:

The Manual is a ‘tool’ to be used by all Australian Cherry growers in the production of high quality cherries sought by consumers with Australia and all points of the globe. Most importantly this is not a static document because as of today some of this information has been superseded by new and more relevant information. The challenge for Cherry Growers of Australia Inc is to maintain this document as a ‘fluid’ document ensuring that it is regularly up-dated and kept current.

Another recent report which growers might find useful is: Orchard Biosecurity Manual for the Cherry Industry.
